2nd Term: Be magnanimous in victory – Upata monarch tells Wike

King Felix Enene Otuwarikpo, the Eze Igbu Upata III in Ahoada East Local Government Area has urged the Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, to be magnanimous in victory in his second term.

The king while conveying a congratulatory message to Governor Wike on his inauguration said the Governor’s inauguration for a second term is indeed victory for all lovers of true democracy and for the good people of Rivers State.

He said Wike’s re-election for a second term and subsequent swearing-in truly passed the litmus test as presented by our nascent democracy.

According to the King: “By his victory, Rivers people are showing we are coming of age and the stage is gradually looking brighter for future elections. Chief Ezenwo Nyesom Wike’s first term in office as attested to by the good people of Rivers State earned him a well deserved victory.

“The Rivers State electorate deserve even a much bigger congratulations for rewarding Wike’s exemplary and transformational leadership with an electoral victory.

” This is indeed a lesson and reminder to all political office holders to work in accordance with people-oriented programs at the grass-root levels to bring about the much desired catalyst for social and economic development.

” However, the Monarch urge the Executive Governor to be magnanimous in victory and the other aspirants should cooperate and work in harmony with the re-elected governor to hasten development. He also appreciate the Independent National Electoral Commission officers led by Professor Mahmood Yakubu, the security agencies and all those that ensured peace and orderliness towards the success of the Governor’s historic victory”
