The Rivers State police command has confirmed the killings in Kono Boue, Khana Local Government Area of Rivers.
The public relations officer of the command, Nnamdi Omoni, said that the actual number of persons killed are not known.
Omoni in response to requests by theportcitynews said that the command has launched an investigation into the killings and will arrest the perpetrators of the heinous crime.
He added that the command will leave no stone unturned to unravel the mystery behind the violence.
Recall that theportcitynews reported about the killing of 15 persons early on Sunday morning with the whereabouts of at least 7 persons still unknown.
Locals say the gunmen shot sporadically during the attack leaving tens of houses burnt.
