Rivers Council boss calls for deep reflection on workers’ day

The Executive Chairman of Ogba Egbema Ndoni Local Govt Area, Chief Victor Ifeanyi Odili has extended his hand of fellowship to both the Federal/State work force under the Umbrella of the Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC), The Trade Union Congress(TUC), The Organised Private Organisations and other Affiliate Bodies, on the occasion of May Day (Workers’ Day) celebration today.

Odili in a statement on Wednesday saluted the resilience, dignity and productivity of Nigerian workers which he said are essential towards Nation Building, Economic Emancipation and social transformation in all facets of our National Development.

He promised that his Administration at the Grassroot will not fail to re-engineer the Society for better service delivery that will compete favourably with the International Best Practice, as stipulated by the The International Labour Organisation (ILO) and therefore ask them to go about their celebrations peacefully.

He urged Civil Servants in the LGA to see May Day celebration as a period of deeper reflections on how best to serve their Father’s Land, Nigeria, pointing out that the recently approved minimum wage by the Federal Govt is a morale booster towards optimum service delivery in the Nation’s work force across board.

Odili therefore heartily felicitated with all Nigerian Workers on the special workers day celebration in ONELGA, Rivers State and by extension, to all Workers all over the World.
