Akpor Youth Council sensitizes youths on the dangers of cultism

The Akpor Youth Council has commenced a campaign against cultism and gang wars among communities in the Akpor Kingdom.

The President of Akpor Youths Council, Azubuike Amadi during a visit to Ogbogoro community in Obio/Akpor Local Government Area said the town hall meeting was organized to sensitize youths and elders on the dangers of cultism.

Azubuike Amadi also called on the Rivers State Government and security agencies to help the Akpor communities in a bid to rid their towns of cultism.

He said that the elders and youths in Akpor communities have resolved to end the cult related activities and also warned those that are still engaged in such acts to stay away from Akpor Kingdom or face the full wrath of the law.

The President of Akpor Youths Council, Azubuike Amadi added that the youth group wants cult related activities and gang wars to end in Akpor kingdom.

The Secretary of Akpor Youths Council Felix Ochomma said the aim of the sensitization tour in Akpor communities is to find a lasting solution to the cult killings in the area.

He said the youth body will not fold its arms and watch the unwanted killings and loss of lives among youths in Akpor kingdom.

Felix Ochoma said the time is right to unite the communities to stand against cultism and gang wars in Akpor kingdom.

It will interest you to know that Akpor Kingdom in Obio-Akpor Local government area of Rivers state has ten communities with Choba, Alakahia, and Rumuorlumeni as victims of recent cult clashes.
