Rivers PDP suspends 15 LGA party chairmen

The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Rivers State has announced the suspension of fifteen local government areas chairmen.

This is coming barely 24 hours after governor Nyesom Wike announced the suspension of 12 local government chairmen.

A statement by the state’s party secretary, Samuel Okpoko said that he affected LGA party chairmen include Abua-Odua, Ahoada-East, Ahaoda-West, Akuku-Toru, Andoni, Bonny, Degema, Eleme, Emohua, Khana, Ogba-Egbema-Ndoni, Okrika, Omuma, Opobo/Nkoro and Oyigbo.

The party did not categorically state the reasons for their suspension but siad it is with immediate effect. The party, however, urged the suspended chairmen to hand over to their deputies.
