Wike inaugurates multi-party committee for 2nd term swearing-in

Ahead of the four years anniversary of his inauguration as Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike, has inaugurated a multi-party “Committee on Thanksgiving, Four-Year Anniversary and Inauguration of The Governor for Second Term “.

Inaugurating the committee at the Government House, Port Harcourt on Thursday, Governor Wike said that he involved different political parties and professional groups in the committee for the development of the state.

He said: “We took cognizance of various groups in constituting this committee. We are no longer talking party. We are talking about the development of Rivers State.

“We reached out to other political parties. We have Governorship Candidates and party chairmen in this committee “.

He said that the multi-party committee is a concrete step towards the inclusive government that he pledged after his victory at the polls.

“Those who doubt our sincerity that we want everyone to be involved in governance, have seen our commitment. We are not playing politics. We have tried to reach out to everyone”, he said.

The Governor said that the committee members are appointed to serve the state and not for any pecuniary reasons.

He urged them to serve to the best of their abilities, as their performance will determine their future placement in Government.
