…….As Wike wants names of cultists at UST submitted to him
Rivers State University will with immediate effect, commence the employment of academic and non-academic staff into its workforce.
This was a result of the request by the pro-chancellor of the university, Justice Iche Ndu to the Rivers State governor, Nyesom Wike for additional staffing of the university when the governing council of the university paid the governor a congratulatory visit to the government house on Wednesday.
Governor Wike also approved the request and gave a go-ahead-order to the institution to resume the recruitment process.
He also urged the university to take drastic measures to checkmate cultism in the university, advising the authorities to submit names of cultists to him.
Wike also called on opposition figures in the state to take advantage of the olive branch he extended to them for the overall development of the state.
According to him: “We want everybody to take advantage of the Olive Branch if they love the state. We are not afraid of fight, but we want everyone to join us to work for the development of the state.
“The state is uppermost on our mind. I will do everything possible to promote the peace of the state “.
“We thank God that all the political tension is behind us. You cannot govern a state when it is not peaceful. We continue to reiterate the need for peace. We want total peace and reconciliation.”
