Omega Power Ministries, OPM, has launched a specialist hospital in Rivers State.
The hospital located in Aluu, Ikwerre Local Government Area, will tend to the sick free of charge.
The general overseer of the church, Apostle Chibuzor Gift Chinyere, during the opening of the hospital on Thursday said the church got involved in the intervention in its bid to address some of the challenges faced by Nigerians especially those residents in the state.
Apostle CHIBUZOR CHINYERE also said the health facility will offer 24 hours services to Nigerians irrespective of their religious affiliation.
He added that the services will be offered free for all women and children accessing health care at the Specialist Hospital
The Chief Medical Director CMD of the OPM Free Specialists Hospital and a Consultant Radiologist Dr.E.W.OGBOMA said the hospital is equipped with the best medical professionals and facilities to offer world-class health services to the public.
She said that the hospital was initiated due to the high rate of deaths among pregnant mothers in the region.
In the meantime, the Officer In Charge of World Health Organization WHO in Nigeria Dr.CLEMENT LASUBA has commended the General Overseer of OPM Apostle CHIBUZOR CHINYERE for building a free specialists hospital in Rivers State.
Dr.CLEMENT LASUBA, represented by the State Coordinator of WHO, Dr. Okafor said maternal mortality prevention is a major priority of the organization in Nigeria.
Also speaking, a popular On-Air Personality in Lagos Daddy Freeze has lauded the gesture of OPM to build a free specialists hospital in Rivers State.
Daddy Freeze also advised other General Overseers of Major Christian Faiths to emulate the General Overseer of OPM.
Some of the pregnant women who spoke to our correspondent commended the General Overseer of OPM for the gesture.
They said that the free specialist hospital will give them the opportunity to have quality health care during and after their deliveries.
