Breaking: Police officer stabs boy to death, shoots 2 others in Port Harcourt. (Graphic Images)

A police officer attached to the Elimgbu police station has stabbed a 27-year-old boy to death in Elimgbu, Rivers State.

The victim named Precious Nyebuchi aka Lil Wayne from Eliowhani Community in Obio Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers and an only son of his parents was stabbed on the stomach on Thursday night by a police corporal simply identified as Chinedu.

He died before being rushed to the hospital.

The officers also shot youths who tried to protest the killing, including a minor boy named Precious Gladstone aged 13 and Turuchi who 27years.

The duo were also declared dead later on Thursday night.

A comment by one Adebisi Emma on a tweet by legendary rapper Rugged Man said that Elimgbu and Atali boys began attacking each other earlier in the day leading to the intervention from the police but the matter quickly escalated.

He added that Nyebuchi was stabbed to death in front of his mother.

The youths in the community are reportedly trying to burn down the police station while the crisis has engulfed the whole Rumukwusi, Igwuruta and parts of Eliozu.

However, theportcitynews gathered from residents that there is heavy gunfight in the area as police officers try to repel the angry youths leading to 11 more residents sustaining injuries.

The Elimgbu/Atali access road has been blocked as the strong combat between Elimgbu Police and Atali youths continued late into the night.

Residents told our correspondent that the area has been thrown into a state of restiveness while elders of the town are working hard to douse the anger.
