Man arrested for forging deceased’s signature, land documents

One JUDE UBELI-AFRICA-ECHE has been remanded in Prison Custody on a five-count charge of felony, conspiracy and fraud by a magistrate court sitting in Choba.

JUDE UBELI-AFRICA-ECHE who pleaded not guilty to the charges against him is accused of forging a signature and land documents belonging to one late Doctor LEBA DUKA-LEBARI in order to sell the land which is located at Rumuekini Community in Obio-Akpor local government Area.

JUDE UBELI-AFRICA-ECHE is also accused for faking Deed of Conveyance on the same landed property and sold it.

Chief Magistrate ISREAL AGBESOR after listening to the charges and argument in court, adjourned to 23rd of April for bail consideration.

KOPINA PRINCE was also arraigned before the magistrate court for allegedly defrauding one AUSTIN of over five hundred thousand naira under false pretence.

According to the charge read against her, KOPINA is alleged to have collected over five hundred thousand naira from AUSTIN with the pretence that she was going to sell a grade one-second hand Siena car to him but never did.

The accused however pleaded not guilty to the one count charge and was granted bail by Chief Magistrate ISREAL ABGESOR with the sum of three hundred thousand naira and a shortee while the matter is adjourned to 7th of May for hearing.

In another report, UBAKA GEORGE was arraigned in court for allegedly defrauding one ONYEKACHI CHARLES of the sum of one hundred and fifty thousand naira under false pretence.

GEORGE was alleged to have collected the said amount from his victim on the 5th of April 2019 and promised he was going to rent a shop for business at Choba town in Obio-Akpor Local government.

When the count charge was read, the accused pleaded not guilty of the crime and was granted bail with the sum of one hundred thousand naira.

Chief Magistrate, ISREAL AGBAESOR ordered that the accused be remanded in Prison custody until the bail conditions are perfected and later adjourned to 10, 17th and 24th of May 2019 for mention.
