A State High Court in Port Harcourt led by Justice G.O.OMEREJI has ordered the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN directors in Port Harcourt, to comply with its ruling to pay a judgment creditor PETER KPUGISI within seven days or face severe punishment.

Justice OMEREJI during his ruling said the CBN directors will face jail term should they fail to pay up the judgment creditor within one week.

The court also ordered the bank to unfreeze the ban placed on the biometric verification number BVN of Peter Kpugisi which has led to the freezing of his bank account for almost one year

The judgment creditor PETER KPUGISI had gone to court to enforce his fundamental human rights after he was put behind bars by the Nigeria Police Force for one a month without trial.

PETER KPUGISI after seeking judicial redress at the state high court won the case and was awarded some compensation by the court.

Tam Williams, the counsel to Peter Kpugisi said they will follow up the court orders to ensure the CBN directors pay the judgment creditor within days.
