How Rivers AAC candidate staged a walk out from Saturday’s INEC stakeholders’ meeting

Indications emerged on Saturday evening detailing the disagreements that ensured at the just concluded stakeholders’ meeting organised by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, to complete the suspended governorship and house of assembly elections in Rivers.

Although the Rivers State chapter of the All Progressives Congress, APC, was not invited, the candidate of the African Action Congress, AAC, Biakpomabo Awara, staged a walkout.

The AAC candidate threw a question to the INEC National Commissioner, asking to know where the electoral sensitive materials of the already concluded 17 local government areas results were kept.

He also queried why INEC has not released the result yet but after tendering his questions, he immediately walked out of the hall of the event accompanied by another political party’s candidate who also raised a provocating question which INEC declined to accept.

The AAC candidate later came back to the meeting before closing.
