Rotary Club donates books to school in Rivers State

The Rotary Club of Port Harcourt New City has donated books to Community Secondary School, Mgboshimili as a way of promoting reading culture among students in Rivers State.

The Club Adviser of Rotary Club Port Harcourt New City, Emeka Anyaso during the book presentation said the gesture is aimed at equipping the school with modern books to inspire the students to aspire for excellence.

Emeka Anyaso during the event also advised the students to guide the book jealously.

He said that education is the best legacy any nation can give its students and urged the students to strive to become solution solvers to humanity.

In his address, the Assistant Governor of Rotary Club Zone 17, Anthony Woghiren said the gesture is part of Rotary’s mission of promoting basic education across the globe.

Anthony Woghiren stated that basic education is what drives human capacity development around the world.

He said that Rotary club will come back to the school to take up another project that will enhance education development in the school.

The Assistant Governor of Rotary Club Zone 17 also advised the students to always pay attention to their teachers and studies.

The Social Prefect of Community Secondary School, Mgboshimili, Prince Echeya while speaking on behalf of the students, thanked Rotary Club for the gesture.

He said that the students will make good use of the educational materials presented to them by the Rotary Club

Our correspondent reports that the books donated by Rotary Club range from sciences, arts, medicine, history amongst others.
