It was a show of despicable violence between residents of Abonnema in Akoku-Toru Local Government and soldiers drafted to the area.
The end product of that show of violence is the alleged death of 15 persons including a personnel of the Nigerian Army.
Shootings from the army started as early as 7 in the morning with soldiers killing a man said to be a polling agent of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in the area. His name is Thywill Dabotubo and is said to be 31 years of age.
This had angered the locals who became agitated over the continual intimidation of voters by soldiers in the area leading to an open confrontation and in the end, over 15 locals were killed with sources saying that the numbers have risen to 27.
