Breaking: Hoodlums ransack polling units in Eleme

Hoodlums suspected to be political thugs have ransacked several polling units in Eleme Local Government Area of Rivers State.

The thugs also carted away electoral materials including ballot papers and voting inks.

Theportcitynews gathered from sources that the thugs who wore military uniforms invaded Ward 4 in unit 7 and shot sporadically as officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, youth copers, security agencies and voters scampered for safety.

A female police officer was reportedly shot but it is not immediately clear if she is dead or alive.

Election observers in the area told theportcitynews that the thugs invaded so many other units in area leading to general apprehension.
