Power Outage In Port Harcourt As A Result Of Faulty 15 MVA Equipment – PHED

The Port Harcourt Electricity Distribution Company, PHED, has explained the reason for the current power outage experienced in parts of Port Harcourt metropolis and others.

The Disco said the forced outage which has affected customers in Woji axis of Port Harcourt including Nvigwe, Alcon, Elitor, New Layout, Ogbatai, Woji Estate, Woji village, Elijiji, etc is as a result of faulty 15MVA equipment.

The Manager and Corporate Communications of PHED, Mr John Onyi, noted that the faulty 15MVA affected the Buchholz chambers and the relays of the power transformer located in the area.

The manager of the company’s cooperate communication, however, said the technical crew of PHED has already set an action in motion with a view to finding the spare parts of the power transformer and as soon as that is done power supply will be restored.

He, therefore, solicited for the patience and understanding of our customers affected in those part of Port Harcourt.
