Lorine Emenike

The Rivers State commissioner for education Hon. Tamunosisis Gogo-Jaja had urged all schools in the state to resume today the 19th of February, as the midterm break has ended.

The commissioner who said this in a media chat with TPCN reporter warned that any school ( both public and private school) in the state who refuse to resume today will be penalized.

The commissioner said the midterm break was given by the State governor to enable children stay home because of the Presidential and National Assembly that was slated to take place on February 16th. ” though it’s quite unfortunate that the election did not hold, but students will have to resume today”.

The commissioner said that talks are still on with the Rivers State Governor to see if he can give Friday the 22nd of February for a public holiday to enable voters travel to exercise their civic rights.
