Streets of Port Harcourt still empty after election postponement

The postponement of the presidential and national assembly elections slated for today came as a huge shock to Nigerians.

Hours after the announcement, the streets of Port Harcourt are still empty with vehicles still sparse on the roads.

Theportciynews visited the popular Rumuola junction, mile and mile 3 but the situation is largely the same.

Business premises have not opened while residents are still at home. Although some did panic buying on Friday for the elections, most people who spoke to theportcitynews expressed displeasure over the decision of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, to suspend the elections.
