3 seafarers abducted close to Brass oil terminal

An oil vessel was attacked by pirates while transiting through the Gulf of Guinea during the early morning hours of Sunday the 3rd of February.

Theportcitynews gathered that the attack happened at approximately 05:30 UTC, when landing craft LAETICIA V was boarded by pirates, some 135 miles south-west of the Brass Oil Terminal in Nigeria.

According to the latest information, 3 crew members were kidnapped during the attack.

The attack is one of the many that happens around the area with red flag raised over the safety of seafarers in the region.

This as mariners have been advised to exercise extreme caution when transiting through the area.
