Court strikes out forgery suit against Wike

A federal high court, in Abuja, has dismissed a suit filed by Achinike William-Wobodo, an aide of the minister of transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, seeking the disqualification of Rivers state governor, Nyesom Wike, from contesting the 2019 governorship election on account of false age declaration.

In an oral application made by Wobodo, he asked the court to strike out the matter following his intention to discontinue the matter after counsels for governor Wike challenged the jurisdiction of the court to hear the suit.

Justice Ekwo, therefore, struck out the matter and awarded a cost of N50,000 in favour of Wike.

Details to follow.
