Gunmen, on Thursday evening attacked the convoy of some chieftains of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP along the East-West Road and killed the leader of Ahoada-West legislative Council, Ekele Fynface Chikobi, popular known as EFCC Chiko.
Theportcitynews gathered that the party chieftains alongside other party faithful were on their way back from a party rally which held in Okrika when gunmen ambushed their convoy and abducted some of the party members.
Mr Chiko was later shot dead by the abductors.
Recall that a driver of a popular Transportation company, Agofure motors, was killed at the Rumuekpe axis of the East-West Road on Monday with the whereabouts of the bus passengers still unknown
Among the attacked PDP chieftains is Okpokiri Nwanaka Okpokiri, member representing Ahoada-West Constituency in the Rivers State House of Assembly.
The whereabouts of other who were travelling on the same convoy are unknown at the moment.
There was an outpouring of condolences for Chiko on social media with friends expressing shock over his sudden demise.
The Rivers State Police Command is yet to react on the matter
