…As Abe calls for calm
Information at our disposal has it that security agents have blocked the entrance to the Port Harcourt division of the Appeal Court.
Recall that the appeal court sitting in Port Harcourt is to deliver judgement on the stay of execution on the appeal of Tonye Cole and other candidates that emerged through indirect primaries.
The sitting was yesterday marred by protest as lawyers following the directives of the Nigerian Bar Association which asked lawyers to avoid the courts for two days over the illegal suspension of the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Walter Onnoghen by President Mohammadu Buhari stormed the court and disrupted the court sitting.
Meanwhile, Senator Magnus Abe has asked his followers to remain calm following the security presence at the court of appeal.
Abe, in a terse message, said: “I am aware of what is going on at the court of Appeal in PH. The world is also aware. Remain calm. We will follow the law, and thread the path of peace. We do not know what the future holds but know who holds the future. It is to him that we continue to look.
“Just stay calm”
