Breaking: NBA and Rivers APC supporters clash at Appeal Court

Members of Nigerian Bar Association, NBA, clashed with supporters of the All Progressives Congress at the Port Harcourt branch of the Appeal Court.

The All Progressives Congress, APC, had filed for the stay of execution of the Judgement delivered by Justice Omotosho, directing the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, to exclude the party’s logo and the name of its candidates from the ballot paper for the Governorship, National and State Assembly elections.

It gathered that the Governorship candidate of the APC, Tonye Cole and other candidates had approached the Court and ruling on the case was billed for today, but members of the NBA invaded the court in an attempt to forestall the case due to their two-day strike over the suspension of the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Walter Onnoghen by President Mohammadu Buhari.

The matter has been adjourned to January, 31, 2019
