Breaking! Gunmen shoot Agofure driver dead, abduct 10 passengers in Rivers State

Gunmen on Monday morning shot a driver of Agofure motors dead with two other passengers. The gunmen then abducted 10 other passengers.

The incident happened at Rumuekpe close to Elele-Alimi along the East-West road at about 9 am.

An eyewitness travelling in another Agofure vehicle said the bus was conveying passengers from Warri to Port Harcourt when gunmen blocked the road.

She said that the driver tried to reverse the vehicle in a bid to escape the gunmen but unknown to him, there was another group behind who then shot him and two other passengers dead and whisked other passengers into the bush.

Our source identified the commercial bus which was attacked as a Navy-Blue Hiance bus belonging to Agofure motors.

The gunmen, however, left an older woman behind because of her frail health.

The spokesman of Rivers State Police Command, NNAMDI OMONI said the command is yet to confirm the incident.
