APC crisis: Eleme LG boss persuades members to join PDP

Brave Dickson

Following the unabating legal tussle tearing the Rivers State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress apart, the Executive Chairman, Eleme Local Government Council, Hon. Philip Okparaji has opened wide his arms to receive APC members willing to join the Peoples Democratic Party.

The LGA boss who made this known in a chat with our correspondent, said the wisest thing for APC members in the area to do is to defect to the PDP, adding that the leadership of APC has nothing to offer its followers.

“I am using this opportunity to call on APC message in Eleme to come and join our party the PDP. Let me re emphasize that I will give them fair treatment. No one will be discriminated against. I will give you direct access to me to enable you report any act of discrimination against you by members of our party. I assure you that nobody will discriminate against you.”

Hon. Okparaji also boasted that his party will experience overwhelming victory in these elections.

You recalled that the perennial crisis rocking the state APC has brought a lot of mixed feelings among its members.

While some have defected to different political parties following the crisis, others are yet to decide whether to defect or remain in the APC.

Going by the recent judgment delivered by a Federal High Court in Port Harcourt presided over by Justice Omotosho, APC will not take part in the forthcoming state election until a superior court up turn the judgment.

To that effect, the Independent National Electoral Commission has delisted APC from its election time table for state in Rivers State, maintaining that the party in the state has no candidates for now.
