Rivers United FC has unveiled its new kits ahead of the 2018/2019 football season in Nigeria.

Newly contracted and retained players (from the previous season) of the club were also presented to fans and assembled media.

The unveiling/presentation ceremony took place at the club’s home ground, the Yakubu Gowon Stadium, in Port Harcourt on Saturday, January 12, 2019.

Rivers United will compete in the Nigeria Professional Football League and (if the qualifying games in the Rivers State FA Cup are successfully navigated), the AITEO Cup in 2019.

Speaking after the ceremony, General Manager of the club, Chief Dr. Okey Kpalukwu stated that the aspirations of the club remain the same as the seasons gone by.

“Anyone associating with Rivers United FC understands that we always strive for excellence at all times,” Chief Kpalukwu said.

“Last season, we did not perform as well as we would have liked to but we are aiming to correct that this time around.

“The objective is to be successful in every competition that we enter for,” he said.

Technical Manager of the club, Azunda Stanley Eguma and Co-ordinator general, Bashiru Badawiy also restated Chief Kpalukwu’s submission that Rivers United will continue its drive to become the most foremost football club in Nigeria.
