SWAN CUP: Treasure FM commences title defence on a winning note

Defending Champions of SWAN Henry Kalio Cup Treasure FM commenced their title defence on a winning note after a one-nil victory over Wave FM at Sharks stadium Port Harcourt.

Stanley Mogbalu scored the only goal of the game in the last minute of the match.

Stanley Mogbalu was voted the Man of the Match in that encounter.

In the other match played yesterday, Excel FM ballers of Rivers State University thrashed Coolwazobiainfo fm five-nil.

Ovunda Prince, Kolapo Ismalia, Samuel Sobere, Kingsley Wike and Emmanuel Kalu were scorers in the one-sided encounter.

Excel fm Ballers courtesy of their 5 goal margin moved top of Group A, with a Joint point with Treasure Fm.

In today’s game, Daar Communications will take on Megalectrics by 4pm.

However, the organizers of the tournament have admitted Radio Rivers into the competition after Correspondents Chapel pulled out from the soccer fiesta.

Radio Rivers will now take the place of Correspondent Chapel in the tournament.

The tournament is organized in honour of Former Chairman of Sports Writers Association SWAN in Rivers State Henry Kalio who brought dynamism in sports reportage in the state.
