Nigerians have taken to Twitter to condemn the killing of soldiers by Boko Haram terrorists in Metele, Borno State.
Reports say over one hundred soldiers were killed with several left with life-threatening injuries.
Although the army has come out to deny the staggering numbers as being reported in the media, it however, claimed that 44 soldiers were killed.
But Nigerians reacted thus:
Since Saint Theresa's Church Madalla, was hit by a bomb planted by Boko Haram on December 25th, 2012,
I have come to the realization that Nigeria will only defeat BOKO Haram when it is ready.
And not a second before.— Chima Nwankwo (@Chimsky1) November 24, 2018

I commemorate our gallant Soldiers that were brutally killed by the notorious Boko-Haram insurgency. My heart and prayers are with the affected families.
How long are we going to continue this way?? I thought BH have been "technically defeated". This is SAD 😭 pic.twitter.com/BOz6U5WPgw

Looks like those who ordinarily should tackle Boko Haram head on have turned the 'battle' to a mean of generating extra income – the military, politicians etc. The media also turning deaf ears. SMDH https://t.co/TmzBU3ozuk

It's unfortunate that we have detoriarated to this point under @MBuhari who promised so much and has now denied all and offered the nation to slaughter of Herdsmen and Boko Haram.— Ugo Bjorn (@SireRoyale) November 24, 2018

we have serious security challenges in the country. Boko Haram, Killer Herdsmen, Militants and Seperationist movements. How do you intend tackling all these. It is only when we are alive that we can enjoy your economic blueprint.— 'Meka (@ChiMeks2018) November 24, 2018

If your profit is running in Billions of Naira annually while fighting Boko Haram, would you allow it to end?

If you are a boko haram member, you will kill Nigeria solders, kill innocent Nigerians, kidnap men , women & children, then be rest assured that you will be paid millions of dollars, amnesty will be granted to you & you will enjoy your life as a murderer with other Nigerians. https://t.co/12CIdTvIVj

It's beyond lack of intelligence, when the Army is infiltrated then, what u see is what u get. A country that absorbs "repented" Boko Haram terrorists into the Army is unserious. He who fetches an Ant infested fire wood will pay host to lizards.

You guys with your thinking. What has Boko Haram ambush of our soldiers got to do with support for Buhari? Highly equipped USA soldiers suffered such which is left for d military to investigate & take action why is same not applicable here?

"Nigerian soldiers fighting Boko Haram release video, lament obsolete weapons, accuse commanders of corruption" while @MBuhari collected $1billion in April 2018 to buy weapons.
We demand explanation on the use of the money given the recent massacre of 118 of ill-equipped soldiers— Ugo Bjorn (@SireRoyale) November 24, 2018

I think @Twitter isn’t doing its job by letting people post videos from the dark web on twitter, a horrible video made by boko haram as they show how they waste Nigerian soldiers. If this were America @Twitter would have taken it down. I’m disappointed! #nototerrorism

It's time we stop treating Boko Haram/ISWAP as a bunch of untrained, rag tag miscreants. With their membership now including citizens of Francophone countries, it's safe to say it is now a full-blown invading military force. The term 'insurgency' no longer applies.

While we commemorate with the families of the fallen heroes, we shouldn't support #BokoHaram through circulating this ugly incidence.
