Breaking: Federal High Court strikes out Rivers APC suit against INEC

Federal High Court sitting in Port Harcourt today, struck out the suit by the All Progressive Congress in Rivers State seeking to stop the conduct of the local government elections held on 14th June 2018.

The case with Suit No. FHC/PH/CS/13/2018 was filed by the APC against Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission, RISIEC, Honourable Attorney-General of Rivers State, Rivers State House Assembly, DSS and IGP at the Federal High Court, Port Harcourt.

However, the presiding judge, Obile, J. struck out the suit for want of diligent prosecution by the plaintiff.

The striking out was sequel to an application made by the Honourable Attorney-General and other counsel in the matter urging the Honourable Court to dismiss the suit for lack of diligent prosecution by the APC.
