As the crisis rocking the Rivers State chapter of the All Progressive Congress continues with no end in sight, a group known as Good Governance Ambassadors of Nigeria (GOGAN) has blamed the lingering feud between the Minister of Transportation, Chibuike Amaechi; and Senator Magnus Abe, the Senator representing Rivers South East Senatorial District in the National Assembly for the crisis.
The Rivers State Cordinator of the group, Comrade Wisdom Mene stated this while hosting the National Women leader of GOGAN, Hon Zainab Mohammed, who was on official visit to the State.
Mene pointed out that the duo are gambling with the party’s chances in Rivers State in the 2019 general elections.
Mene said the disagreement between Amaechi and Abe has heated up the polity in Rivers APC, with the respective loyalists and followers of the two leaders of the party always at each other’s Jugular.
He noted that such antics was not in the best interest of the party especially as it prepares for the forthcoming general elections.
He hinted that GOGAN, as a political pressure group with mandate to promote good governance, will ensure that the tenets of democratic practice are not abused.
Mene called on the two political leaders to close ranks and ensure that peace and genuine reconciliation return to the party.
In her remarks the National Women Leader of GOGAN, Hon Zainab Mohammed, commended the Rivers State chapter of the body for its commitment towards the achievement of good governance and assured of the support of the national executive of the body.
