No fewer than 300 personnel of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) and other security agencies have been deployed ahead of the forthcoming Christ For All Nations (CFAN) crusade by world-renowned Evangelists, Reinhard Bonnke and his successor, Daniel Kolenda, which begins on Thursday in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
Chairman of security sub-committee, Apostle Eugene Ogu disclosed this when organisers of the crusade briefed journalists on their preparedness for the four- day event scheduled from Thursday to Sunday, November 11, 2018 in Port Harcourt.
Ogu, who is the General Overseer of Abundant Life Evangel Mission (ALEM) in Port Harcourt, said that 200 out of the 300 NSCDC operatives would be armed, advising people that would attend the crusade to conduct themselves in an orderly manner and obey security operatives and protocol officials.
Earlier in his address, co-chairman of the programme and General Overseer of Royal House of Grace, Apostle Zilly Aggrey, said the hosting of the four-day power-packed programme was the demonstration of how secure Rivers State is, adding that it would boost the spiritual upliftment of millions of Nigerians.
Aggrey thanked the state Governor, Barrister Nyesom Wike for “graciously approving the use of the newly sand-filled area along the LNG Road by Eastern Bye Pass for the power-packed crusade.
Aggrey said, “We are confident that the venue is very accessible, spacious, secure and divinely provided to accommodate our expected massive turnout of 750,000 to I million persons.
”Rivers State is peaceful and people will go about their normal activities. Let me assure you all that adequate security arrangements have been put in place with full backing of relevant security agencies to protect lives and property”.
The co-chairman expressed optimism that the programme will positively impact on Port Harcourt and strengthen the bond of unity among churches in the State.
Also, a member of the advisory board of Committee Archbishop of the Methodist Church in Port Harcourt, Archbishop Sunday Agwu, admonished Nigerians to be hopeful that God will bring deliverance to the people through the programme.
The event is in partnership with churches in Rivers State.
