The General Overseer of Omega Power Ministries OPM Apostle Chibuzor Chinyere says the decision of the church to cater for some women rescued from a baby factory in Port Harcourt was due to their passion to help the less privileged.
Apostle Chibuzor Chinyere while visiting the women in OPM Estate in Aluu said the church has been taking care of the women since the Rivers State Police Command handed over the women to them.
Cnibuzor Chinyere, who was accompanied by one of the APC gubernatorial candidates in Rivers State Tonye Cole, wondered why people are criticizing the church for taking custody of the rescued women.
He stated that the church will continue to cater for the women despite criticism from some quarters.
In his comment, the APC gubernatorial candidate Tonye Cole while commending OPM, said government agencies should partner faith-based organizations to provide succor for the less privileged ones in the society.
He stated that he will partner OPM to improve the lives of the low-income earners in the state if elected governor of Rivers State in 2019.
Some of the women rescued from the baby factory in Port Harcourt while commending the General Overseer of Omega Power Ministries OPM, Apostle Chibuzor Chinyere appeal to him not to send them back to the social welfare.
The women who spoke on condition of anonymity said they are well taken care of by the church.
They also said they have repented and advised young girls from engaging in illicit affairs that are capable of ruining their lives.
