The deplorable state of the Chokocho – Okomoko road has caused unquantified disasters to road user and residents.

This has mandated youths in Etche local government to call on the government to fix the Chokocho-Okomoko road as it is no longer a road but a death trap.

The road which is immediately after the Chokocho bridge is in a deplorable state and needs urgent repair works they said.

Speaking to our correspondent on Wednesday, Mr George Amadi, who is one of the leaders of the youths frowned at the negligence by the government.

He said that the Nyesom Wike’s government has played deaf ears to the plights of the people owing to the fact that the road is now what he described as “a death trap”

“It will interest you to know that Chokocho is the gateway to Etche. Also, the road which is immediately after the bridge is the major link road to other communities in Etche local government and Port Harcourt” he noted.

According to him, it is imperative to note that the usefulness of the road cannot be overemphasized, adding that the present State of the road slows down economic activities in the area.

He urged the government to do all it can and put back the road to use as its present state is causing more harm than good.
