A former majority leader of the Rivers State House of Assembly, Chidi Llyod, has been appointed as the Director General (DG) of Architect Tonye Dele Cole campaign organization.
The appointment was announced at the factional APC caucus leadership meeting which had the minister of Transportation, Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, in attendance.
Also in attendance was the gubernatorial flag bearer of the Rivers State All Progressives Congress (APC), Architect Tonye Cole and the factional state chairman, Ojukaye Flag- Amachree, among other top heavyweights.
Theportcitynews learnt that minutes of jubilation heralded the pronouncement of Lyold as the Campaign DG.
Llyod, who unsuccessfully ran for a House of Representatives Position in 2105 has been at the forefront of the Tonye Cole campaign after he was declared winner of the factional direct primary earlier this month.
Llyod, who some stakeholders said has the capacity and willingness to perform the new role as DG has been at loggerheads with the Rivers State Government.
Sources close to the party heavyweights told our correspondent that the gubernatorial flag bearer promised to be steadfast in ensuring that the party emerges victorious in the forthcoming 2019 election.
