The Sunday 30th September 2018 gubernatorial primaries of the Rivers State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has been scheduled to hold inside army barracks in Port Harcourt.
Theportcitynews.com gathered from an inside credible source loyal to the minister of Transportation, Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, that the faction arrived at the decision on Saturday evening after a long meeting.
Recall that there has been controversies over the gubernatorial primaries of the party with the faction loyal to the Senator Magnus Abe clamouring for direct primaries as against indirect primaries proposed by the Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi’s faction.
An insider who did not want his name mentioned disclosed that those loyal to the minister have resolved to hold the primaries inside the barracks to avoid any eventualities that may likely arise from the Senator Magnus Abe’s camp.
As at the time of filing this report, efforts to reach party members close to Senator Magnus Abe for comments proved abortive while loyal party members told our correspondent that they have not been fully communicated the venue for the primaries.
