Gunmen Storm Residence Of An Assembly Aspirant In Etche

Unknown gunmen on Wednesday invaded the residence of J. Morgan Nwaobilor, a PDP House of Assembly aspirant from Etche Local Government Area of Rivers State destroying valuables worth hundreds of thousands.

Theportcitynews gathered that the hoodlums trailed his campaign office where they destroyed his cars and other campaign valuables.

Recall that the police averted what would have been a bloodbath on Sunday night when certain political heavyweights led thugs to disrupt a PDP delegate election in Chokocho area of the local government.

An eyewitness disclosed to theportcitynews that the assault might be linked to a factional dispute in the party between the victim and the faction loyal to the member representing Etche / Omuma Federal Constituency in the National Assembly, Jerome Eke.

The eyewitness maintained that while J. Morgan Nwaobilor was far away in Port Harcourt, the hoodlums who thought he was home came with sophisticated weapons to the campaign office but met the absence of their target.

This made them destroy the properties available and beat up those present. Efforts to reach J. Morgan Nwaobilor proved abortive as he was said to be in a serious meeting.
