Rivers NYCN crises deepen over financial recklessness

Allegations of financial recklessness seem to have deepened the infighting between some top executive members of the National Youth Council of Nigeria, Rivers State Chapter.

The State secretary of the Council, Prince Barine said he will drag the State Deputy Chairman of the Council who is now laying claims on the acting chairmanship position, Chijioke Ihunwo, and his allies to court if they refuse to apologize to him.

Barr. Barine said comrade Ihunwo and his allies recently took to the media to declare him and others expelled from the state youth council over financial impropriety, adding that he would institute a 150 million naira defamation suit against them for damaging his image.

The state secretary said comrade Ihunwo and his allies have been suspended from the party, urging the public to discountenance their claims.

When contacted, comrade Ihunwo challenged Barr. Barine to drag him to court, maintaining that he has available documents that indicted Barine and others on financial recklessness.

“The management committee of the Youth Council on Monday held a meeting an expelled Barr. Barine and others from the youth council for embezzling money meant for the council,” comrade Ihunwo said.
