The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has declared four officials of the Rivers state government wanted for alleged criminal conspiracy, laundering and misappropriation of N117 billion public fund and abuse of office.
The anti-graft agency on Wednesday, September 12, shared the pictures and names of the wanted Rivers state officials on its Facebook page.
The wanted officials of Rivers state are Fubara Siminayi (director of finance for Rivers state government), Harrisonba Bessi Princewill, Lekia V. Bukpor and Dagogo Roderick Abere
The commission has been at loggerhead with the Nyesom Wike-led administration and has called on the state government to explain the reasons for the withdrawal of the said huge sum of money.
However, Governor Nyesom Wike has vowed that no official of the state will appear before the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for probe.
The governor spoke after the EFCC made enquiries about the state’s alleged N117 billion transactions in the past three years.
The governor accused the commission of running a politically-motivated investigation, adding that until the 2007 court injunction barring the anti-graft agency from investigating the state is vacated, no official would appear for probe.
