A Niger Delta peace and environmental rights advocate, Comrade Sheriff Mulade has commended the Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris for his prompt and proactive action on those involved in the illegal raid at the residence of elder statesman, Chief E. K. Clark.
The peace advocate described the prompt action of the Police boss as a welcome development that has ensured improvement in public trust and confidence in the Nigeria Police Force, charging the Nigerian police to respect the rights of the people.
He said;” I want to strongly express my appreciation to IG Ibrahim Idris for distancing the most respected security outfit from this ugly menace and to urge him to deal decisively with the perpetrators because if the likes of Pa Clark at 92 can be harassed, humiliated and embarrassed, that tells you how innocent Nigerians are suffering in the hands of our police illegally”.
The Peace and Environmental rights advocate also cautioned and advised the Niger Delta ex-militants who threatened to resume hostility to abort their plans, saying Niger Delta region do not need such actions that have negative effects on the environment.
He advised and cautioned the ex-militants not to take laws into their hands under the guise of the illegal raid on Pa E.K. Clark residence in Abuja and appealed to Niger Deltans to accept the apology from IG IBRAHIM IDRIS for the interest of Peace and unity in Nigeria.
