Following the seven days ultimatum issued to cultists and hoodlums to vacate Rumuorlumeni community in Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers state, which is to elapse on Tuesday 28th, 2018, Secretary of Rumuolumeni community, Weneda Onukwuru has said stiffer actions will be taking against cultists who refuses to adhere to the instruction after the expiration of the seven days.
Onukwuru who is also the secretary of the palace of his Royal Highness, Eze Ndubueze Wobo Orlumeni, disclosed this to theportcitynews reporter Tina Amanda.
He said the community leadership is working hard to put an end to killings and crisis caused by cultist related activities.
According to him, the leadership is collaborating with security agencies in the state to return peace and normalcy to the community.
“We have lines of actions to be carried out at the end of this ultimatum. We want to ensure that trouble markers are taking out of the community completely. We are very ready, security agencies are working with us, the government is working with us.
“We have the support of virtually all stakeholders and including parents and we are confident that at the end, we will get results. Rumuorlumeni is a peaceful community and we want it to remain that way.
“People should come together and work with the leadership of the community to ensure that these things are nipped in the bud before it escalates.
When the community is in crisis, everybody is affected, the government is also affected. We have over fifteen multinational corporations operating in the community, the Nigerian Navy, the Ajuru University of Education amongst others. If the community is not at peace, none of these institutions will operate.” he said.
He warned parents and guardians to caution their children to stay away from vices and heinous crimes, adding that no stone will be left unturned to prosecute anyone caught in the act be it an indigene or not.
‘’Parents should warn their children and wards. These cultists are our children, brother’s, uncles and friends. We are not resting on our horse, we will make sure anyone involved is brought to book to avoid repetition of this incidence, people should adhere strictly to what we have said‘’
