The present government has failed us – Widows

As Christian faithful continue to pray for the peaceful coexistence of all and sundry and for a peaceful 2019 general election all over the country, widows under the umbrella “Narrow Road Women/ a cry for the Nation”, gathered on Tuesday to pray for the Nation and a new leadership in government come 2019.

He said: these widows have consistently prayed for the peace and progress of Nigeria. So, as a body of the ministry, we also pray for the peace and progress of the Nation.

“We have cone here as patrons and as fathers to join our mothers, first to pray for a peaceful conduct and credible forthcoming general election and also to pray for God to choose the right candidate, who is God fearing, to be the next president and we are also believing God that this election will be free of bloodshed and all kind of unnecessary things that may happen, that this prayer will avert it. That is why we are here ”

Bishop John Peters also used the medium to advise Christian faithful in the country to continuously pray for the country; it is only God that can solve the problem and challenges of Nigeria. So every Christian should pray for peace and the well being of Nigeria and Nigerians, he said.

Also, he said that Christians should steadfastly hold onto their faith. He noted that there are challenges, ” but we should not lose hope and faith in Christ, let our faith continuously anchor on Christ “.

On her part, the Visioneer of the arms president of the group, Evangelist Dr. Blessing Opuwill Jesus, president of Narrow Road Women Intercessors of Nigeria AKA Mother Cry for Peace, for youth and the Nation, said ” We the mothers are tired of the incessant killing and the corrupt government and that is why we are led by the Holy Spirit to gather and begin to pray for Peace to reign and for a new good government to take over power.

“By the grace of God, we believe, as we are praying, God will hear our cry as mothers, so that is why we are here today. We are expecting God to do a new thing in Nigeria, a new government that has the fear of God and that will carry the people along. The present Federal government has failed us, that is why we want God to intervene in this matter”
