Etche council chair appoints PWD as special assistant

Obinna Elvis Anyanwu, the Chairman of Etche Local Government Area LGA has appointed physically-challenged Dike Eze Precious as his Special Assistant on Disability Matters.

The appointment was made during a courtesy visit by the Senior Special Assistant (SSA) to Gov. Wike on Physically-Challenged Matters (Itekena Zephaniah Altraide) to the Etche local government Chairman.

During the session, Hon. Anyanwu demonstrated his love for persons with disability (PWD) by distributing gifts to those present, promising to carry out all developmental programmes of the Office of the SSA to Gov. Wike on Physically-Challenged Matters.

The chairman also promised to provide disability aids like crutches, wheelchairs, white cane, and brailles. Hon. Anyanwu also encouraged his PWD to get registered in the ongoing INEC voters’ registration in order to secure their permanent voters’ card (PVC).

He insisted PWD should always remember the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) for being the first political party to have included them in governance. He finally thanked Gov. Wike for appointing Itekena Zephaniah Altraide thereby carrying PWD along in his administration.

Itekena Zephaniah Altraide in a swift reaction commended the LGA Chairman for emulating Gov. Nyesom Ezenwo Wike and further indulged the LGA Chairman to be a worthy ambassador of PWD development and inclusion in developmental activities.

The SSA further advised all PWD from or living in Rivers State to participate in the Office ongoing Database Development for PWD by collecting (free membership) forms in the Chairmen Offices of the 23 LGAs of Rivers State. He called on all local government Chairmen to be supportive to persons with disability in their LGAs.
