Authorities in the University of Port Harcourt have recalled the suspended outspoken professor of Philosophy and activist, Andrew Efemini.
Professor Efemini was suspended by the University authorities in August 2017 over allegations by the University Vice-Chancellor, Professor Ndowa Lale that he (Efemini) incited students to protest against some policies of the University.
It will be recalled that the students of the university held a series of protests over a school fees policy that sees those who were not able to pay their fees on time, repeat another session.
The school fees policy has also become an issue of lengthy litigation in both the Federal High Court Port Harcourt and Rivers State High Court Port Harcourt.
Theportcitynews investigations revealed, however, that the Don was discharged and acquitted of all the charges against him after a lengthy investigation by the University into the matter.
Our investigations also revealed that the Professor currently sits in his office but it could not be ascertained if he has resumed teaching students.
Professor Efemini who declined our request to comment extensively on the matter told our correspondent on the phone that he is happy to be back to his job.
Our correspondent contacted the University’s spokesman, William Word who as at the time of filing this report, has not responded to our enquiries.
