Stop Covering Political Deceits – Peterside Tasks Media Practitioners

The Director-General, Nigerian Maritime and Safety Agency, (NIMASA), Dakuku Peterside, has called on media practitioners in Rivers State to defend the rights of citizens through factual reportage of activities and programs embarked upon by the Nyesom Wike led state government.

He made the call at a media chat with journalists in Port Harcourt on Monday where he expressed sadness at the rate of distorted and misleading reports that misinform citizens within and outside the state.

Peterside stated that whereas Wike has successfully blocked leakages in his government, he (Wike) has allegedly become the main pipeline through which state funds are syphoned.

He blamed the media for not speaking the truth, and for covering up for Wike, to enable him to create an imaginary image of a people and project-oriented government when the sad reality is the failure of his administration to embark on any project since its inception.

He stressed that most worrisome is the trend of laying claims to project completed by his predecessor and current Minister of Transportation, Chibuike Amaechi, adding that the APC will ensure the end of Wike’s deceit come 2019.
