Breastfeeding Week: RVSG declares August an Awareness month

The River state government has said that the month of August will be used to create awareness for Breastfeeding.

The Rivers State Nutrition officer in the ministry of Health, GLORY NWOKOCHA, said this as Rivers state joined the rest of the world to end the World’s breastfeeding week.

She said the aim is to ensure that the message of exclusive breastfeeding is heard in all communities in the state.

The Rivers State Nutrition officer also charged all pregnant women to make sure they register with a government facility for quality healthcare.

You will recall that the world breastfeeding week started on the 1st of August with sensitization on the importance of breastfeeding by the ministry.
