NYCN Elective Congress to hold in Port Harcourt, as Transition committee calls on President Buhari to call Dalung to Order

The Transition Committee of the National Youth Council led by its Acting President Abdulrahman Bola, has called on the general public and Government at all levels to disregard the factional leadership loyal to the Minister of Youths and Sports, Solomon Dalung that recently emerged in Gombe, in alleged defiance of a court injunction restraining the conduct of the Election.

Abdulrahman Bola who stated this at the weekend, at the NYCN Pre Congress Press briefing in Port Harcourt, insisted that only the leadership of the apex youth body that will emerge after the conduct of its election in Port Harcourt will be authentic, adding that anyone that deals with any other individual other than those that will emerge at the Port Harcourt Congress does so at his own risk.

The Acting President of the National transition committee of the NYCN further called on President Buhari to call the Minister of Youths and Sports, Solomon Dalung to order and refrain from further balkanization of the NYCN.

“We have come here to announce to the whole world that the demeanours being paraded by the Minister of Youths, Barrister Solomon Dalung is to be placed on hold by the Federal Government of Nigeria.

“A lot of people have confidence in President Mohammed Buhari, but his aides that are mishandling the affairs of the youths under his watch must be called to order.

“We are using this opportunity to call on everyone, especially the security agencies to be aware that the leadership that will be produced from this Congress is the legitimate leadership of the National Youth Council of Nigeria.

“We wish to alert that whosoever parade himself anywhere as President of National Youth Council of Nigeria, under any guise does so at his own peril, and whosoever relates with such person, he has enjoined others to fictionalize leadership without any reason”

The Elective Congress is billed to hold today at the Alfred Diete Spiff Sports Complex, Moscow Road by 10 am, beginning with the accreditation of delegates who are expected to vote later in the day.
