Just in: 23 Members Of Kwara State House Of Assembly Defect To PDP

In continuation of the gale of defection from ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, to other party platforms across the country, 23 members of the Kwara State House of Assembly, KHAS, defected this morning to the leading opposition, PDP.

This latest defection is hardly unexpected after senate president, Bukola Saraki, state governor, Abdulfatai Ahmed and top politicians of the state formally in affiliation with APC, defected yesterday.

Reading out a joint letter appended to by all defecting members, Rt. Hon. Alli Ahmad, speaker of the state legislature, stated that the members alleged that their move was informed by factionalisation of the ruling party at the local level.

At the end of reading of the letter, the speaker, himself, appended his signature to the list of defectors which already had his name as one of the defectors.

“I am so happy leaving the APC today,” he said.
