Port Harcourt: Rotary Club installs 32nd District President, to spend 30 million on community projects

The Rotary Club Port Harcourt Central is to spend the sum of N30 Million on community projects in Rivers State.

This disclosure was made to newsmen last week by the newly installed 32nd President of Rotary Club, District 9141, Port Harcourt Central, Rotarian Chidi Okoroh at L.A. Kings Stadium Road, Port Harcourt.

Okoroh, while fielding questions from our correspondent, stated that his administration had already kick-started Rotary year 2018/2019, with the launch of community projects to the tune of N30 million.

According to him, Rotary Port Harcourt Central would provide assistance in the areas of book donation, Disease control, sanitation, coral and cultural dance and economic empowerment among others for the Rivers people.

Asked of what he intends to achieve in office for the next one year as a Rotary President, he said: “In fact, I cannot make a boast that I will surpass the good records of my predecessor but will do my best to sustain the tempo, since there is no competition in Rotary”.

Continuing, he said: “Interestingly, we have already rolled out some of the projects to be executed in this one year in office and it is budgeted at N30million, that is the reason why we are soliciting for the collaboration of others in the society” He maintained.

Present at the occasion were, Speaker, Abia State House of Assembly, Chief. Chikwendu Kalu, District Governor-elect Rotary Club Dr Nze Anizo, members Board of Directors, past Presidents of Rotary club among others.
