Carl Ikeme to take up coaching role

The Nigerian Football Federation, NFF, has said it will send the 32-year-old former Wolves and Nigeria goalkeeper, Carl Ikeme on a coaching course and afterwards, absorb him into the Super Eagles coaching crew.

Ikeme announced his retirement on Friday on medical advice after his battle with acute leukaemia.

Mohammed Sanusi, general secretary of Nigeria’s Football Federation, said: “The NFF will find the resources to send Carl Ikeme on a coaching course, and afterwards absorb him into the technical crew of the Super Eagles.”
