NPFL to return August 8

There might be light at the tunnel for lovers of domestic football in Nigeria.

The Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) is reportedly set to resume on or before 8th August, 2018 according to a top official.

Due to the crisis that had engulfed the football fraternity in Nigeria, matches in the week 25 of the top flight which was scheduled to take place on 18th July were postponed until further notice.

“The league should be up and running on or before 8th August,” the top official told Footballlive

“We planned to end the season by October. We have 14 more games to play in the NPFL and will see how it goes.”
Lobi Stars are on top of the league table with 43 points from 24 games.
